Passionate about Information
I am passionate about information. Information fuels our lives, even more now than ever before, and we are constantly being inundated with new, more, and conflicting information. This is hard enough to manage without having to deal with poorly presented information. I came to instructional design seeking a way to improve the delivery and transfer of knowledge and information after spending 10 years as a consumer of poorly packaged knowledge as a military member and federal employee in the defense industry.
I came across instructional design much by accident while looking into a master’s degree in education. I wasn’t even entirely sure what instructional design was, but I knew it was my natural home as soon as I started reading the program description. I wanted to be able to help people do what they did better, more efficiently, and in a more enjoyable way regardless of where they did it.
Throughout my career, I have worked to develop highly polished speaking and writing skills, time management, critical thinking abilities, research expertise, and stellar interpersonal skills. My work experience coupled with my graduate studies at the University of Tampa have allowed me to develop skills and competencies in areas vital to effective instructional design.
My areas of interest include the health care and medical fields, corporate training, and higher education. I’m excited to work on a variety of projects, and to collaborate with a wide variety of colleagues and clients. I am adept at working in a team environment and also skilled with telecommuting and collaborating at a distance.
